National Sales Manager (VQUDC2-F5D7F347) Lagos, Nigeria
Our client, a rice milling and distribution business across Nigeria is seeking a highly experienced National Sales Manager to lead and expand rice sales operations across the country. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market share, and managing the nationwide distribution network for rice products. The role requires strong leadership, market understanding, and execution capability across Nigeria.
Roles responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement national sales strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets
- Identify new market opportunities and expansion areas across regions
- Prepare annual and monthly sales forecasts and budgets
Distribution & Channel Management
- Build and strengthen a robust distributor and dealer network across Nigeria
- Appoint new distributors in untapped markets and manage existing relationships
- Ensure product availability and visibility across all key markets
Team Leadership & Management
- Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, train, and monitor regional and area sales teams
- Set performance targets and KPIs for the sales team
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance for improvement
Market Development & Customer Management
- Develop strong relationships with key customers, wholesalers, and institutional buyers
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends
- Drive brand positioning and market penetration
Pricing & Commercial Management
- Implement pricing strategies in line with company objectives
- Monitor margins and ensure profitability across channels
- Coordinate with finance for credit control and collections
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Track sales performance and prepare MIS reports for management
- Ensure timely reporting of sales data, stock levels, and receivables
- Use data to drive decision-making and improve efficiency
Coordination with Internal teams
- Coordination with Internal Teams
- Work closely with production, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure smooth supply
- Align sales plans with production capacity and inventory levels
Candidate requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 8–12 years of experience in FMCG / Agri / Food industry, preferably rice or grains
- Proven experience in managing nationwide sales in Nigeria
- Strong network with distributors and wholesale markets
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel extensively across Nigeria
