Our client, an investment holding company operating in multiple sectors is hiring for an Investment Associate to join their investment team in Lagos, Nigeria, working on deal origination and exectution, portfolio management and strategy development.



Job responsibilities:

Deal origination and execution:

  • Prepare high quality comprehensive financial models and investment memos to support the company’s understanding of new investment and business opportunities.
  • Support due diligence of investment opportunities and manage various stakeholders on the transactions.
  • Prepare relevant internal and external documents required to inform relevant stakeholders on the investment opportunities.
  • Support transaction execution workstreams as required

Portfolio Management:

  • Provide competitive analysis on portfolio companies’ market offerings and stay updated on market trends
  • Provide financial advisory support to portfolio companies where required.
  • Develop and maintain investment models, portfolio data, and supporting analytics.
  • Collate, review and query portfolio companies’ monthly management accounts

Strategy Review and Developemnt:

  • Assist in the development and review of strategy for the Company and its portfolio companies.
  • Support the review of annual budgets and medium to long-term plans.
  • Champion agreed strategies at the Company and portfolio level

 

Candidate requirements:

  • 4-5 years of work experience, particularly in research, capital-raising, origination, executing, and monitoring of investments.
  • Ability to develop complex financial models, perform financial analysis, company valuations, and comparable company analyses.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures.
  • Strong project and time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. ▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

 Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with concentrations in highly analytical fields such as Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related fields.
  • Post-graduate qualification, Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Financial Analyst designation is an added advantage.
  • Outstanding academic record.
