Construction Director (JN -112024-61328) Leeds, England
Nicholas Associates are partnered with a residential groundworks company who are subcontractors to PLC housebuilders, they have expanded their operations and therefore have an opportunity for a Construction Director.
As Construction Manager you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic and professional guidance to the Contracts Managers, Project Managers and members of the team
- Lead of all construction aspects of the business' work
- Working collaboratively with the Managing Director, project teams and sub-contractors, building strong and trusted working relationships
- Developing team capabilities and shaping the future strategy
- The role will also include a significant client facing role where you will establish new relationships and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
Requirements:
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field (desirable)
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in residential groundworks subcontracting
- Previous experience as a Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Manager or Construction Director
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a background in leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Client relationship skills with the ability to understand and align with client objectives, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of construction (ideally from a Site Engineer background) able to read drawings
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate risks, solve complex issues, and adapt to changing project requirements while maintaining a focus on project goals and timelines.
