Assistant Site Engineer (JA0010) London, England
Our client is well-established, specialist contractor that specialises in all aspects of groundworks and reinforced concrete sub-structures and super-structures. With new projects starting in London, they are recruiting for an Assistant Site Engineer.
As an Assistant Site Engineer you will help manage the technical, safety, and daily setting-out operations for RC Frame and sub-structure construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting Out: Using surveying equipment to mark lines, levels, and coordinates for foundations, drainage, and concrete slabs.
- Quality Assurance (QA): Inspecting completed works, conducting concrete cube testing, and keeping accurate quality records.
- Technical Queries: Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, then flagging design discrepancies to senior engineers.
- Subcontractor Liaison: Coordinating with groundwork gangs and suppliers
Requirements & Qualifications
- A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A valid CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is essential; SSSTS or SMSTS is often preferred.
- Must have a minimum 6 – 12 months practical setting-out experience
- Basic CAD knowledge, and familiarity with surveying instruments.
- Experience on RC Frame, groundworks and sub-structure projects would be an advantage
