Hours:  37 hours per week – Hybrid (1 day per week in the office)

 

GI Group are recruiting an experienced Buyer to join their procurement team, supporting and purchasing of composite parts and associated materials/services.

This is a varied role that will suit someone confident working in a fast-paced environment, comfortable managing suppliers, and experienced using SAP to run end-to-end purchasing activity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Acting as the Buyer for composite parts, ensuring continuity of supply and supporting operational requirements.

·        Raising purchase orders in SAP, including POs raised against Long Term Agreements .

·        Managing the RFQ/quotation process, including:

·        Sending requests for quotation against SAP requisitions.

·        Issuing AFP/RFQ quotation requests to suppliers.

·        Uploading quotations and related documentation into SAP.

·        Producing and issuing end user statements in line with internal processes.

·        Supporting invoice clearance, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely payment.

·        Managing and progressing Quality Notifications, working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive resolution.

·        Supporting supplier pre-qualification and qualification activities, ensuring suppliers meet required standards.

·        Handling and resolving complex supplier queries, escalating where required and ensuring issues are closed out effectively.

·        Maintaining accurate procurement records and ensuring purchasing activity is completed in line with policy and compliance requirements.

 

Essential skills & experience:

·        Proven experience in a Buyer / Procurement role (ideally within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, automotive, or similar)

·        Knowledge/experience buying composite parts or technical components (desirable)

·        Strong working knowledge of SAP (requisitions, RFQs, POs, quotation uploads, invoice queries)

·        Confident communicator, able to manage supplier relationships and challenge constructively

·        Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

·        Practical problem-solver with experience dealing with non-routine/complex queries
