Marketing Manager
Position Summary
ESS is seeking a strategic and versatile Marketing Manager to lead sales-driven marketing efforts that support our continued national growth. This individual will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing comprehensive marketing initiatives aimed at driving new business development and elevating ESS’ brand visibility within the K-12 education market. While this position will not manage direct reports, it will serve as the central marketing point of contact for ESS sales leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management
- Develop, plan, and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive lead generation, brand visibility, and new district partnerships.
- Manage multi-channel outreach strategies across email, digital ads, direct mail, social media, and events.
- Collaborate with sales leaders to align marketing tactics with pipeline goals, geographic priorities, and lead generation targets.
- Maintain a sales-focused marketing calendar to coordinate campaign deployment, follow-up activities, and promotional timelines.
- Regularly evaluate campaign performance and optimize based on key performance indicators (KPIs), including open/click-through rates, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution.
Content Development & Brand Messaging
- Create persuasive, audience-focused marketing materials including brochures, email copy, case studies, ads, blogs, presentation decks, and landing pages.
- Write, edit, and proof all outbound marketing content with a consistent tone and voice aligned to ESS branding.
- Ensure content is tailored to target personas such as district administrators, superintendents, and HR leaders in K-12 education.
- Maintain a strong command of ESS’ brand voice and messaging, ensuring all content is on-brand, polished, and professional.
Design Collaboration & Brand Stewardship
- While not a graphic designer, demonstrate a strong eye for design and layout to guide content formatting, asset planning, and visual hierarchy.
- Collaborate with internal design and creative teams to bring content to life with visuals that reflect ESS branding, while providing clear direction, layout suggestions, and copy integration.
Email & Marketing Automation
- Build, test, and send segmented email campaigns through Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot).
- Create and manage lead-nurturing flows to guide prospects through the sales funnel.
- Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, visuals, and content formats to improve deliverability and engagement.
- Ensure email content is visually consistent, brand-compliant, and optimized for conversions.
Sales Enablement & Lead Generation Support
- Support sales through the development of tailored marketing materials and lead conversion tools.
- Produce sales decks, flyers, leave-behinds, and promotional assets that communicate ESS’ solutions clearly and persuasively.
- Recommend outreach tactics and content strategies for targeted territories, events, and campaigns.
Event, Conference & Field Marketing
- Collaborate with the design team and Conference Manager to develop materials, including signage, promotional emails, social media, and booth content, to maximize event ROI.
Social Media Marketing
- Collaborate with the Social Media Specialist to develop and manage a sales-focused social media strategy that supports brand awareness, lead generation, and regional growth.
- Support the creation and scheduling of organic posts and paid advertisements across platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram.
- Help identify content opportunities that highlight sales milestones, company updates, district partnerships, and thought leadership.
- Monitor performance metrics and provide input to optimize engagement, reach, and conversion.
Technology & Data Management
- Leverage Salesforce, Account Engagement, ZoomInfo, ReachDesk, and analytics tools to support lead generation and personalization.
- Maintain digital assets in Canto, ensuring all marketing materials are current, accessible, and brand-compliant.
- Manage and update written content using Responsive.
- Ensure CRM and marketing databases are clean, segmented, and maintained for accurate targeting and campaign execution.
- Utilize analytics tools like Google Analytics and SEMrush to monitor performance, detect trends, and inform your strategy.
- Compile campaign performance reports and dashboards with insights on lead flow, engagement, and sales pipeline contribution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in marketing, preferably in a B2B, SaaS, education, or professional services environment.
- Proven experience building and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive lead generation and sales growth.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a portfolio of compelling content.
- Strong project management skills and ability to balance competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot) is required.
- Familiarity with marketing automation, ZoomInfo, and reporting tools such as Google Analytics or SEMrush is preferred.
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, SEO fundamentals, and audience segmentation.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
