Sales & Marketing Proposal Writer
ESS, an award-winning K-12 staffing and management company, is looking for a Sales & Marketing Proposal Writer to join our expanding Marketing team. In this role, you’ll craft compelling proposals and engaging marketing content that bring the ESS brand to life and demonstrate how we serve school districts nationwide.
We’re seeking a writer who combines creativity with accuracy, capable of producing persuasive, well-structured proposals and long-form content, while also generating clear, engaging copy across various channels. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and motivated, with a passion for storytelling and a sharp eye for detail accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, proofread, and format proposals and bids
- Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to identify key requirements and response strategies
- Develop proposals by gathering and organizing information on project objectives, deliverables, timelines, staffing, and evaluation criteria
- Break down complex information into clear, concise, and engaging content
- Meet deadlines by managing priorities and coordinating with contributors across departments
- Ensure all responses are complete, compliant, and consistent in tone and messaging
- Draft and edit copy for marketing collateral, presentations, blog posts, email campaigns, and social media
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to align all content with ESS’ voice, goals, and strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in writing and editing within a marketing, proposal, or communications team
- Proven experience responding to RFPs and creating long-form, persuasive content
- Familiarity with proposal management tools such as Responsive (preferred)
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher)
- Enthusiasm to support the team and go beyond standard responsibilities when needed
Pay, Perks, and Benefits
- Salary range: $55,000–$60,000, based on experience
