Our client helps organisations build and run high-performance, cost-effective systems integration. They have decades of collective experience of delivering integration solutions, and know the most effective way to analyse, design, build and support the most challenging of problems.
As well as building integration platforms and delivering high quality integration solutions, they also specialise in implementing operating models for integration teams, including designing and delivering Centre of Excellence (CoE), centre for enablement (C4E) or other shared service models.
Job Summary
Our client is working on a brand new programme that will deliver a complete modernisation of their customer’s application landscape. The goal is to migrate their business to a cloud platform, reengineering their systems to take full advantage of the latest cloud technology, digital opportunities, and agile ways of working.
We’re looking to recruit an Integration Solution Architect who will be a key member of the delivery team working on this programme. The ISA will work closely with the Enterprise Integration Architect and the other engineers and architects. The EIA will define the target integration architecture with input from the ISA. The ISA will be responsible for defining how the target architecture will be implemented. This will include the design for implementing integration platforms and application interfaces and patterns.
This role is for a hands-on, engineering and development focused architect who has loads of experience building integration solutions, especially cloud scale solutions for event-driven architectures and using event streaming, API management and IPaaS platforms. Experience with Apache Kafka / Confluent Kafka and cloud platform equivalents is required.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- A strong background in integration architecture at the solution level
- Prior extensive experience as an integration developer / engineer
- Strong expertise in using DevOps practices in delivering integration solutions
- Experience with delivering incremental products using prototyping
- Demonstrable experience with cloud scale integration architectures
- Specific technology experience required
- Apache / Confluent Kafka
- IBM WebSphere Message Broker / MQ
- Demonstrable experience working in a large programme delivered using agile project methods
- A working understanding of Investment banking
- Whilst it is not essential to have extensive investment banking sector experience for this role, a good working knowledge of the business model and operations of an investment bank is important
- Experience with Atlassian tools
- Experience using wiki’s for documentation
- Experience working as part of a distributed team staying in touch using collaboration tools

- Experience with on-premise integration platforms, e.g.

Role Specifics
- Must be willing to travel.
- Our client operate projects all over the Outside of London, some areas where we have delivered projects include Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham, and Northampton.
- Consultants are rarely required to be on site 5 days a week, but the candidate must be willing to travel according to the needs of the project.
- In addition, the programme the candidate will initially work on will largely be based in London but may involve visits to a variety of locations in other countries. If required, trips are expected to be occasional and not expected to be for more than a week at a time. Destinations include USA, India and various destinations in Europe.
