HGV Class 1 Steel Driver

HGV Class 1 Steel Driver (PD Steel) Goole, England

Salary: GBP17.37 - GBP26.06 per hour

We’re looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a busy steel transport operation based in Thorne. You’ll be responsible for transporting steel products across the UK using a flatbed wagon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating a Class 1 flatbed vehicle

  • Transporting various steel loads to sites nationwide

  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects

  • Safely securing loads in line with health & safety standards

  • Occasional nights out may be required (not full weeks or every week)

Previous experience transporting steel is essential due to the nature of the loads.

Requirements:

  • Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence

  • CPC & Digital Tacho Card

  • At least 2 years’ Class 1 driving experience

  • Proven experience transporting steel on flatbeds

  • Strong knowledge of load securing and strapping methods

  • No more than 6 points on licence – no DD, DR, or IN convictions

  • Good understanding of driver hours and WTD regulations
