Global Transportation Manager

Global Transportation Manager (IE_CW_GTMP) Dublin, Republic of Ireland

Role Summary

The Global Tranportation Manager will collaborate with the Freight Forwarders and be accountable for all the international air and ocean transport operations between the regions. This person will be responsible to run the necessary analysis to monitor and measure the global carriers performances and to ensure that all transportation cold chain related processes are in compliance with GDP requirements.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for global transportation management, monitor that suppliers deliver services in line with agreed SLAs, and work on plans of actions when service levels fall below target.
  • Responsible for the selection and implementation of new Freight Forwarders.
  • Create and review of global transportation SOP’s and work instructions.
  • Transportation cost control and reporting (monthly spent vs. budget).
  • Manage freight bill audit and payment processes (Trax) and ensure that under or overspendings are well understood and actioned.
  • Create and manage yearly transportation budget.
  • Organize and maintain operational and performance review meetings with the freight forwarders.
  • Lead the continuous improvement projects.
  • Conduct air and ocean transportation tenders.
  • Negotiate new rates and services.
  • Investigatigate and resolve customer or shipper complaints and follow up insurance claims (related to transportation and cold chain management)
  • Work with the Global Cold Chain team to implement new shipping systems, processes.

Physical Position Requirements

  • Location is based in Dublin
  • Travel requirement (0-5%)

 

Candidate Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Min 5 years of experience working in a transportation management role
  • Experience managing third party service providers.
  • Successful track record of managing and implementing projects.
  • Experience in cold chain management is a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to analyze data and synthesize to make data driven decisions
  • Knowledge of international customs and trade compliance
  • Proficiency in English
