Associate (5+ PQE) – Private Client – Cheltenham

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an Associate with 5+ years' PQE to join a collaborative and well-established Private Client team.
You'll advise a diverse portfolio of UK and international clients on:

• Estate and succession planning
• Trust creation, administration and restructuring
• Inheritance tax planning
• Wills and wealth preservation strategies
• Probate and estate administration
• Family investment and business succession matters
• Landed estates and heritage property work

Working closely with experienced Partners and specialists across Private Client, Trusts, Tax and Property teams, you'll gain exposure to complex domestic and cross-border matters while developing your own area of expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing your own varied caseload
• Delivering clear, practical and commercially focused advice
• Drafting complex legal documentation
• Supervising and mentoring junior team members
• Supporting business development and networking activities

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX professional with ideally 5–7 years' PQE
• Strong background in Private Client law
• Excellent knowledge of estate administration, trusts and inheritance tax
• Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners or trustees
• STEP qualification desirable but not essential
• Strong technical ability with a commercial and pragmatic approach
• Confident managing a substantial caseload independently
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
