This is a standout opportunity to step into a broad, high-impact role working across the business, advising on everything from client contracts to regulatory change.
The Role
As a Risk & Regulatory Associate, you’ll play a key role in the firm’s success and you can expect your day-to-day duties to include:
- Reviewing and advising on client engagement terms, codes of conduct, and internal policies
- Supporting business development and marketing from a compliance perspective
- Leading updates to engagement letters and terms of business
- Advising on secondments, international work, and subcontracting arrangements
- Developing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and driving change where needed
- Delivering training and raising awareness of risk and compliance issues
- Providing legal research and advice on regulatory matters (e.g. SRA Standards & Regulations)
- Supporting internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Representing the team on internal projects and committees
- Mentoring junior colleagues and helping grow the team’s capabilities
Candidate Requirements
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- A current practising certificate or solid experience in legal risk and compliance
- Strong background in commercial contract review and negotiation
- Working knowledge of the SRA Handbook and key regulatory frameworks (e.g. AML)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, adaptable approach to juggling priorities and deadlines.
- A passion for continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing
