Associate – Regulatory Disputes – Bristol

A leading national law firm is looking for an Associate to join its highly respected Regulatory Disputes team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high impact matters for major businesses, advising across the full spectrum of regulatory compliance and investigations.

You’ll play a key role in helping clients navigate fast moving regulatory frameworks, from preventative compliance to crisis response, enforcement action and contentious proceedings.

The Role
You’ll advise on a broad range of regulatory risk issues, with a particular focus on:

  • Anti Bribery & Corruption (ABC), Failure to Prevent Fraud (FTPF) and Modern Slavery
  • Health & Safety, building safety and fire safety
  • Internal and external investigations, including strategy, evidence review, disclosure, interviews and regulator engagement
  • Drafting policies, procedures, risk assessments and compliance frameworks
  • Supporting clients through enforcement, interviews under caution, prosecutions and related hearings
  • Contributing to multi jurisdictional projects and cross office teams
  • Play an active role in business development and client training


About You
You’ll be an Associate with experience in regulatory compliance and investigations, ideally including:

  • Advising on regulatory frameworks and risk
  • Handling internal investigations and regulator facing strategy
  • Drafting responses to information notices
  • Preparing for or attending interviews, inspections or hearings
  • Experience in ABC, FTPF, Modern Slavery or Health & Safety is ideal, but candidates with strong transferable skills will be considered.
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills
  • Confidence handling clients and complex issues under time pressure
