Real Estate Associate (Residential Development) – Exeter

The Role


An exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded Transactional Real Estate team within a Top 100 UK law firm, consistently ranked in the Legal 500 and recognised for its strength across regional and national markets.

As an Associate, you’ll play a key role in a market-leading Residential Development team, advising a broad client base including national housebuilders, developers, landowners and registered providers.

This is a varied, hands-on role offering exposure to high-quality, complex development work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting on residential development acquisitions and disposals
  • Advising on affordable housing transactions for developers and registered providers
  • Supporting on strategic land projects, including promotion agreements and option arrangements
  • Handling a wide range of development matters such as:
    • Overage agreements
    • Conditional contracts
    • Title due diligence
    • Easements and tenancies
  • Working closely with colleagues across planning, tax and other specialist teams

Candidate Requirements

You will ideally have:

  • 2–4+ PQE in Commercial Real Estate
  • Experience in residential development, or a strong interest in specialising in this area
  • A solid grounding in real estate transactions and development work
  • Strong technical skills combined with commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
  • A proactive approach with an interest in business development and client growth
