The Role


A standout opportunity for a Court of Protection Solicitor to join a respected, long established national law firm with a strong reputation in personal injury, clinical negligence and complex private client work.

Working within a specialist COP team, you’ll manage a varied caseload involving vulnerable and brain injured clients. You’ll support senior lawyers on complex matters while taking responsibility for your own files and helping to guide junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing Property & Affairs, Deputyships, Trusts and Statutory Wills
  • Supporting clients with financial decisions, lifestyle needs and welfare issues
  • Preparing COP applications, including PI Trusts and Welfare Deputyships
  • Supervising and delegating to paralegals/trainees
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA and OPG Deputy Standards


Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx (3–5 PQE) with COP and/or Clinical Negligence experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of Court of Protection law and vulnerable client work
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage a busy caseload
  • Confident supervising junior team members
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to client care
  • Competent with case management systems and general IT
