Associate / Senior Associate – Employment – Bristol

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Employment Solicitor to join the Bristol office of a highly regarded UK Top 50 law firm, recognised in both the Legal 500 and Chambers for the quality of its work and strength of expertise.

Joining a well-established and growing Employment team, you'll advise a broad range of employers, HR professionals, senior executives and organisations across both the public and private sectors. Working alongside experienced employment specialists, you'll gain exposure to a varied mix of contentious and non-contentious matters, supporting clients on both day-to-day employment issues and strategic workforce projects.

Your work will include:

  • Advising on the employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions, TUPE transfers, outsourcing arrangements and business reorganisations
  • Supporting large employer clients with operational HR matters and strategic people-related projects
  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract matters
  • Conducting and advising on workplace investigations, disciplinary issues, grievances and misconduct allegations
  • Advising on restructuring, redundancy, capability and performance management processes
  • Supporting senior executives on appointments, remuneration arrangements, service agreements, exits and boardroom disputes
  • Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, executive service agreements, policies, bonus schemes and incentive arrangements
  • Advising on restrictive covenants, confidentiality obligations and the protection of business interests
  • Supporting multinational organisations on international employment law matters and cross-border workforce projects
  • Negotiating settlements and preparing settlement agreements on behalf of employer clients


This is a role that offers genuine variety, direct client exposure and the opportunity to become a trusted adviser to a sophisticated client base.

Candidate Requirements
We're keen to hear from Employment Solicitors who are looking to take the next step in their career within a high-performing and supportive team.

You'll ideally have:

  • Around 3+ years' PQE in employment law
  • Experience gained within a reputable regional, national or City practice
  • Strong technical knowledge across both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Excellent drafting, communication and analytical skills
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-focused advice
  • Experience managing client relationships and handling matters with increasing autonomy
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • An interest in networking, business development and building your professional profile
