Are you an experienced planning solicitor with 4+ years’ PQE looking for your next step?

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Associate or Senior Associate to join a nationally recognised Planning & Infrastructure Consenting team in Exeter.

This is a highly respected national firm with a strong regional presence, top tier rankings in Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, and a reputation for advising on some of the most significant developments in the region. With a growing pipeline of major projects and a thriving client base, the team is now looking to expand.

  • Lawful development certificates and highways matters
  • Enforcement, compulsory purchase, judicial reviews, statutory challenges and appeals
  • Supporting wider teams on property acquisitions, disposals and contentious planning issues

You’ll run your own caseload while working closely with Partners and colleagues across the firm’s offices. This is a role offering high levels of responsibility, client contact and the chance to develop a sector specialism over time.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 4+ years’ PQE with a strong grounding in planning law
  • Experience in residential development and/or energy related matters (ideal but not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence handling complex issues

  • The ability to build trusted, long lasting client relationships

A passion for energy, infrastructure and the future of sustainable development would be a real advantage, given the team’s significant work in this space.

You’ll be joining a forward thinking national firm with a culture that genuinely invests in its people. Expect:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • Clear progression pathways and meaningful development opportunities
  • Exposure to high value, high profile planning work from the outset
