Customer Service Officer - Sea Import (210125364) Tullamarine, Melbourne, Australia

Salary: AUD39 - AUD40 per hour + $350 worth of vouchers issued annually

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.00pm

Overall purpose of the position is to effectively support the Customer base of a large Sea Freighting business by meeting the agreed service levels. You will be required to professionally process inbound customer service calls, ensure delivery of a consistent and high-quality customer experience and be proactive in identifying business improvement opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be required to obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle inquiries and complaints, to act as the communication conduit between our customers and our business partners, suppliers and service providers.

Areas of Accountability:

  • Act as Key contact for allocated key accounts customers and building strong relationships
  • Shipment monitoring through Cargowise software
  • Arrange transport bookings (Air, LCL, FCL)
  • Liaise with transporters to arrange transport and achieve a high standard of DIFOT
  • Liaise with overseas offices and agencies via email and phone
  • Provide visibility to keep account customers via status reports, emails and phone calls
  • Liaise with operational teas to ensure smooth handling of shipments
  • Respond to customer enquiries, complaints and reach effective resolutions
  • Submit quotations to current and prospective clients
  • Invoice files in line with set KPI
  • General office duties as required.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years experience in customer service within transport industry
  • Strong knowledge of FCL and LCL principles
  • Experience with Cargowise
  • Strong Verbal and written communication skills
  • Can do attitude with a passion to meet targets.
