This position offers a unique opportunity to work outside traditional classroom settings, utilising community-based learning to help pupils build self-esteem, develop coping strategies, and successfully re-engage with schooling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Re-engagement: Develop personalised strategies to help disengaged young people build confidence and reintegrate into the classroom environment.

  • Community-Based Learning: Drive and lead educational visits and activities across Plymouth to promote real-world learning.

  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Partner with parents, carers, social workers, and local agencies to provide comprehensive pastoral support.

  • Targeted Interventions: Support pupils across Primary or Secondary phases, depending on your experience and preference.

Candidate Requirements

  • Driving License: Full UK Driving License and access to a reliable vehicle (Essential).

  • Education: GCSE grade C/4 or above in both Maths and English (or equivalent).

  • Commitment: Must be available for full-time, long-term work.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, patience, empathy, and strong behaviour management skills.

  • Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), SEN, or vulnerable youth is beneficial.
