Sales Admin Team Leader
Location: Reading (100% office‑based)
Salary: up to £30,000 per annum
Contract: Full‑time, permanent
We’re looking for a focused, friendly and hands‑on Team Leader to coach and motivate a Sales Administration team responsible for end‑to‑end customer order processing. This is not a sales/targets role, it’s about workflow, precision, and service: processing incoming orders, liaising with clients and suppliers, and ensuring everything ships on time with zero drama.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop a busy Sales Admin team; set priorities, remove blockers, and keep productivity high.
- Oversee the full order lifecycle: validate orders, update systems, coordinate with suppliers, logistics and warehousing, and confirm dispatch.
- Be a visible point of contact for clients and suppliers, handle queries quickly, professionally, and in clear written and spoken English.
- Track and improve KPIs such as order turnaround time, accuracy, and on‑time delivery; spot trends and suggest process improvements.
- Train, coach and support colleagues (including deputising/acting up experience); manage rotas and handovers to maintain service levels.
- Maintain immaculate records in the CRM/ERP, ensuring data quality and audit readiness.
- Escalate issues proactively, keeping stakeholders informed until resolution.
What you’ll bring
- Team leadership experience - formal or informal (e.g., stepping in when a lead is on leave) with the confidence to motivate and “keep the wheels turning.”
- Order processing experience in a product‑based or distribution environment (e.g., booking stock out, coordinating shipments, supplier liaison).
- Strong written and spoken English; able to draft clear customer updates and supplier instructions.
- Solid systems skills across MS Office and order/ERP/CRM platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, Dynamics or similar).
- High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and calm under pressure.
Nice to have
- Experience creating or improving team workflows and SOPs.
- Excel skills for reporting (lookups, pivots) and comfort with dashboards/queues.
- Familiarity with SLAs in customer fulfilment or logistics environments.
What’s in it for you
- A stable, office‑based role in Reading with a collaborative team and the chance to shape how work gets done.
- Clear goals, supportive leadership, and scope to introduce process improvements that make a real difference.
- Training and development opportunities aligned to your growth.
