We are seeking an experienced Payroll Compliance Officer to join a well-established organisation in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of payroll legislation, audit processes, and internal controls.
About the Role:
- Ensure payroll practices remain compliant with current legislation, including Fair Work, Superannuation, and ATO obligations
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies or irregularities
- Maintain and update payroll policies, procedures, and documentation in line with regulatory changes
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors, and external bodies as required
- Monitor system integrity and assist with implementing compliance improvements
- Provide guidance and support to the payroll team on legislation and best practices
- Support risk management initiatives and assist with internal or external payroll reviews
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in payroll compliance or a senior payroll role with compliance responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and EBAs
- Experience with large payroll systems
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
