We’re looking for a skilled Payroll Governance Consultant to join a well-known financial institution as it embarks on an exciting period of change. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and brings a deep understanding of payroll regulations, audits, and governance processes.
This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract initally, providing a fantastic opportunity to join one of Australia's largest and most well known financial institutions.
About the Role:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of payroll data, aligning with compliance requirements, payroll legislation, internal policies, and employment contracts.
- Establish and maintain a robust controls and governance framework across the payroll function to minimise risk and ensure data accuracy.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing clear interpretation of complex award conditions.
- Apply strong payroll knowledge to conduct quality assurance checks on payroll outputs prior to distribution to internal stakeholders.
- Develop and execute standard reporting queries in SAP and Excel to identify and resolve inconsistencies in Masterfile data.
- Produce complex reports and analyses of payroll data, supporting initiatives to automate payroll reporting and data validation processes.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in payroll compliance or a senior payroll role with compliance responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and EBAs
- Above average Excel skills
- Advanced knowledge of SAP, including reporting tools such as Spinifex
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
