Salary: GBP18.99 - GBP19.54 per hour + plus holiday pay in addition

Role:                                             Mechanical Fitter – Aerospace Manufacturing
Location:                                      Yeovil, Somerset
Shifts:                                           Day shift       Monday to Friday.

                                                     Week one: 7am-3:30pm. Week two: 3:30pm – midnight.
                                                     £18.99 per hour (Skilled Worker) or £19.54 per hour (indentured Skilled Worker).
All rates attract holiday pay in addition (An extra 12.07% per hour)

Recruiting Skilled / Indentured Mechanical Fitters to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing site in Yeovil, Somerset.
This role involves the assembly of aerospace equipment in line with manufacturing instructions, engineering drawings, specifications, and customer/regulatory requirements.
You will work as part of a production team, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assemble aerospace products in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
  • Mechanical fitting of Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Life Support Systems (LSS), and Hydraulic (HYD) equipment
  • Quality control including stamping to confirm assemblies meet required quality standards
  • Ensure work is completed on time and to the required standard to support on-time delivery
  • Interpret and follow engineering drawings, process layouts, and documentation procedures
  • Work effectively within a lean manufacturing environment



Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Have an understanding of Aerospace practice and the significance of the safety critical work undertaken
  • Engineering Apprenticeship (desirable but not essential)
  • Proven knowledge of mechanical assembly / fitting /manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety standards
  • Experience working in a customer-focused, target-driven environment
  • Comfortable working closely with designers and engineers
  • PC literate with the ability to read and follow technical instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Team player with flexibility and the ability to use initiative
  • Commitment to Continuous Improvement
