This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aviation workshop professional (MUST have minimum 3 years’ aircraft wheel & brake or landing gear overhaul experience) to step into leadership.

As a Workshop Team Leader / Workflow Specialist, you will oversee daily operations within an Aircraft Wheels & Brakes workshop, combining hands-on technical expertise with production planning and team supervision.
You’ll play a key role in driving efficiency, improving turnaround times (TAT), and ensuring full compliance with aviation regulatory standards. This role is ideal for someone looking to transition from a senior technician position into leadership, with progression into a permanent role.

Main Responsibilities:

Workflow & Production Optimisation

• Plan and schedule daily and weekly workshop activity based on backlog and customer priorities
• Monitor components through all stages: cleaning, NDT, machining, inspection, and assembly
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks to maximise output
• Track and improve KPIs, with a strong focus on reducing TAT
• Liaise with stores to ensure materials, kits, and consumables are available ahead of production

Team Leadership & Safety

• Supervise and coordinate a team of approximately 15–20 technicians and support staff
• Allocate work, provide guidance, and support day-to-day performance
• Foster a strong safety culture aligned with EHS and 5S principles
• Identify training needs and support development, including competency sign-offs

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance documentation, teardown reports, and release paperwork are completed accurately
• Maintain strict adherence to Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and airworthiness standards
• Oversee tooling control and calibration (e.g. torque wrenches, specialist equipment)
• Support internal and external audits, including regulatory inspections

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Essential

• 3 years minimum experience in an aviation MRO environment (wheels, brakes, or landing gear)
• Must already hold the ongoing right to live and work in the UK. No sponsorships can be provided now or in the future.
• Strong technical understanding of workshop processes and component repair
• Experience working within regulated environments (e.g. Part 145)
• Confident using MRO/ERP systems (e.g. SAP, AMOS, Quantum) and Excel
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Desirable

• Previous team leadership, supervisory, or production planning experience
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
