Configuration Engineer (Aviation MRO) (BBBH16238) Hayes, England

Salary: GBP41440 - GBP41440 per annum

The Configuration Engineer (Aviation MRO) will be responsible for the configuration of aircraft components between different aircraft and operators.
The successful candidate will be required to ensure that the production facility has the required scope of work for a given event and offer expert advice to allow them to complete the task.

Shift:                     Mon-Fri.
Salary:                  From £41,440

Main Responsibilities

  • Create and issue work packages for aircraft component assembly and release considering the ongoing aircrafts configuration and customer’s individual needs.
  • Reading and understanding aircraft publications to produce work instructions. Documents include but not limited to Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM’s), Aircraft Illustrated Parts List (IPC), Service Bulletins (SB’s).
  • Provide technical support to the production departments ensuring customer requirements are being adhered to.
  • Ensure work instructions are clear and accurate.
  • Define material requirements.
  • Ensure all work is in accordance with Airworthiness Directives, and any other safety critical information to help comply with the CAMO requirements.
  • To use knowledge of aircraft configuration to assist in the development and set up of new capabilities.



Ideal candidate profile

  • Degree Qualified (BEng 2:1), Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical or Engineering. HND will be considered.
  • Extensive (5+years) experience within the Aerospace industry preferred, ideally working on aircraft configuration control at an MRO facility.
  • Experience of working with production control packages (MRP / ERP). Experience of SAP would be desirable.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the aircraft publications arena, ideally with EASA 145 / CAMO / Part M airworthiness compliance experience.
  • Detailed and accurate with good personal organisational and time management skills.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Comfortable dealing with customers, office & production staff and management.
  • An additional language (German / French) would be useful, but not critical.
  • Must already hold unrestricted rights to live and work in the UK. No sponsorships provided now or in the future.
