I am seeking a Machine Borer to join my renowned aviation industry client based in West London, close to Heathrow Airport. 

You will have experience operating and maintaining boring machines, to produce precision components. You’ll have a strong understanding of machining processes and a keen eye for detail.

Role:                     Machine Borer
Location:              West London
Shift:                     Monday to Friday with some flexibility required included working overtime at weekends
Salary:                  £29,000 - £31,500 to start

Main responsibilities:

• To operate all types of boring machines to fine limits.
• Operate various boring machines to precision limits.
• Work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, OHM, CMM, and SOPM.
• Demonstrate knowledge of horizontal boring practices
• Utilise computers, spreadsheets and database programs

 
Ideal candidate profile:

• Machining background essential.
• Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
• Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English
• Experience of operating horizontal boring machines is desirable.
• Ability to measure using imperial units.
• Knowledge of CNC machining is preferable.
• Aerospace industry experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong understanding of precision machining and quality control.
• Competent user of hand and power tools.
