CNC Machinist (BBBH17550) Bishop's Stortford, England

Salary: GBP40000 - GBP40000 per annum

Seeking a skilled Machinist to join an aerospace engineering team on a permanent basis near Stansted, Essex. This is a highly specialised role, working on specific aircraft components rather than high-volume CNC production.

The successful candidate will be confident in both manual and CNC machining and capable of working independently on bespoke repair schemes.

Role:               Machinist – Aerospace Engineering
Location:        Near Stansted, Essex
Salary:            £40,000 per annum
Hours:            Week 1:          Mon–Thurs 07:30–17:00, Fri 07:30–13:30

                       Week 2:          Mon–Thurs only, 07:30–17:00
                       Average of 39 hours per week


Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate and set up manual and CNC mills/lathes (XYX & Bridgeport machines).
  • Carry out precision machining on aircraft components, with a focus on repair and specialised rework.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and repair schemes.
  • Program CNC machines using Prototrak and Siemens software.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and compliance in line with aerospace industry requirements.
  • Assist with manual operations using hand tools for bush/sleeve installation .


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experienced machinist with background in manual & CNC machining.
  • Aerospace experience strongly preferred.
  • Capable of working on your own initiative with attention to detail.
  • Confident programming experience using Prototrak / Siemens.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on precision engineering.
