About the company
Our client is a highly regarded gold mining company with a good industry reputation. Their business is now going through a key phase of growth. The site has been producing gold for just under 10 years, and the ore grade has significantly improved over the last year and their operation is continuing to go from strength to strength.
About the role
This role is for an experienced Geology Superintendent with a strong background in Resource Geology to join a gold mine in a large regional centre in Victoria. You have the option to relocate or DIDO if you live within Victoria. You will be working Monday – Friday, 7am – 4pm (with some flexibility for DIDO).
Key responsibilities:
- 3 direct reports and managing a team of 14 – 16 geology professionals
- Create resource models and estimates using block modelling; perform, coordinate, review in estimating resource models, and estimation of grades and validation of grade models
- You will provide training and mentorship to employees, specifically around the technicalities of resource geology
- Work alongside the senior leadership team on the long term strategic outlook of the mine
- Overall management of projects and adherence to budgets / timelines
Skills and experience required:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Geology / Earth Science
- At least 5 years' experience working in a senior underground geological capacity managing a team
- High level of skill & ability working within resource geology & resource estimation (gold preferable)
- Proficiency with mining software including Vulcan and strong Microsoft Office skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with excellent command of the English language
- Located in Victoria or willing to move to Victoria (FIFO not considered)
