My client, a well known charitable organisation are recruiting for a Payroll Office to join them on a part time basis. You will lead and assist the Payroll Manager to administer the group’s multiple payrolls, in compliance with HMRC regulations, pension providers, auto enrolment, third parties and the HR and Payroll Integrated System, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on-time every month.

Main Duties:

- Oversee and contribute to the processing of the monthly payrolls from start to finish, including processing starters, leavers and staff movements, overtime and expense payments, statutory payments, deductions, applying multiple terms and conditions from TUPE staff, exception reporting, generating BACS reports and month-end reporting
- Process payroll in line with statutory requirements, ensure tax codes and national insurance deductions are correctly administered and timely and accurate information is provided to HMRC, in line with Real Time Information Requirements.
- Calculating additional items such as holiday pay, SSP, SMP, SPP and issuing payslips.
- To assist with pension auto enrolment and contributions and manage employee queries.
- To apply changes in accordance with annual pay awards and salary band increments.
- Review and validate payroll results, identifying and explaining variances for final sign off by Payroll Manager.
- To prepare data for the reconciliation of payroll costings, monthly for management accounts.
- Assist with the reconciliation and remittance of third-party deductions including attachment of earnings, voluntary benefits, salary sacrifice arrangements, etc.
- Assist with the secure transfer of data to third parties including HMRC, Child Support Agency, Local Councils in relation to Attachment of Earnings Orders, Health Scheme Providers, Salary Sacrifice providers and Pension providers etc.
- Support in month end and year end processes across each payroll.
- Responsible for the administration of annual leave balances within the payroll system.
- Be one of the main users of the payroll system and update with statutory employee changes.

Skills Required:

- Experience working in a payroll/ finance office
- Experience of using an HR and Payroll integrated system
- Experience of working with confidential information where discretion is required
- Excellent technical literacy of Microsoft Applications, e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word, Power point
- Strong numerical skills with the ability to complete both manual and computerised payroll calculations
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including accuracy and attention to detail
