Procurement Specialist

The Role:

The key aims of the role are:

  • To provide procurement support to all ODE Limited projects – Great Yarmouth and Wimbledon
  • Issue of RFQs and evaluation of proposals
  • Raising of requisitions and purchase orders
  • To assist in administering and co-ordinating goods receipt and delivery, including quality control inspections
  • Manage the delivery of critical materials meeting their required deadlines
  • Reporting of procurement status to all stakeholders
  • Deputise for the existing Supply Chain team members

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Focal point for all ODE Limited purchasing
  • Create and issue RFQs and ITTs to suppliers: analyse and recommend award
  • Liaise with Cost Control team on budget
  • Create purchase requisitions and orders using the ERP system
  • Expediting orders, assessing risk to on-time delivery and advising management/clients of problems and mitigation options
  • Update procurement status reports for key projects
  • Present procurement status to clients, host meetings, create presentations
  • Evaluate new supplier submissions and update the approved supplier list
  • Coordinate with QC department: acceptance testing, inspection release, and material movements
  • Liaise with warehouse re goods receipts and discipline engineer inspections
  • Process supplier invoices in ERP system, monitor approval process, and liaise with Accounts team re supplier payments
  • Hosting supplier review meetings
  • Assisting Supply Chain Manager with departmental/procedural reviews and performance presentations
  • Support other parts of the business as required – ODE Asset Management

 Preferred/Future:

  • Become familiar with all departmental procedures, identify potential improvements and drive change
  • Familiarity with supplier contracts/terms and conditions, ability (or potential) to negotiate terms

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, in Engineering or Business Management;
  • Extensive experience in Project (EPC) execution environment
  • Experience in issuance and managing execution of requisitions/purchase orders for material, equipment, and services and contract placement with ongoing contract administration.
  • Accreditation from Supply Chain industry organization (i.e., MCIPS, CPSM, CIPS)
  • Ability to bring teams together to resolve issues and achieve targets and goals
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiating skills
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing strategies and procurement work processes
