The Role:

You will be required to work on small to medium sized projects and engage as part of the Process Engineering Team for larger projects, under the guidance of the Project Management team and Department Manager. This role requires the ability to take responsibility for delivery, schedule, resource management & planning and progress reporting

The key aims of the role are:

  • Provide process engineering services on Oil, Gas & Energy Transition Projects in areas such as green hydrogen production and treatment, carbon capture and storage (CCS), natural gas decarbonisation and oil & gas supply security.
  • Carry out Process Engineering Calculations, Simulations and other tasks and produce quality reports which are approved by Engineering Management prior to transmittal to clients
  • Check the work of peers, Engineers and Graduate Engineers prior to transmittal to clients
  • Work professionally with others in the Process Engineering and Project Team
  • Attend relevant Safety, Health and Environmental awareness training provided by the company
  • Proficiently use the HYSYS Process Simulator and other process software
  • Participate in the Corporate Training and Development scheme and maintain their awareness of current issues in Industry and Process Technology
  • Pro-actively resolve design problems with vendors and third parties

Organisation and Resources

  • Act as a Lead Process Engineer on small projects
  • Mentor and project manage Junior Process Engineers

Finance and Commercial

  • Provide ad-hoc support to other divisions including Consultancy and Business Development as may occur from time-to-time as supported by the Chief Process Engineer

Production and Efficiency

  • Provide definition of the Process engineering work in the Project, design approach or criteria by skill and experience as directed by the Project Lead Process Engineer
  • Clearly understand the Codes and Standards applicable to the work carried out and raise deviations where necessary

Safety and Environmental Related Tasks

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

  • Carry out work in accordance with ODE, Doris and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
  • Undertake Process engineering design work with true regard to Safety both in design detail and engineering design execution; and to be innovative in design work with due regard to minimisation of cost whilst maintaining technical integrity

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) or equivalent

5-10 years process engineering experience in design/operations

May have experience related to the oil & gas production and processing industries. Brownfield experience advantageous

May have participated in a graduate training scheme with a bona fide corporation or institution. (e.g. IChemE / IET)

Maybe a Chartered Engineer, or at application for Chartership level
