Project Engineer

The role:

ODE is currently looking for a Project Engineer to support the development of a number of projects in the Oil / Gas, Chemical, and Petrochemical sector

This is a key role that encompasses the management of others for the quality and timely delivery of the work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers

In addition, the role requires a level of cost estimating experience and Business Development 

The responsibilities for this role can vary considerably depending on the scope and size of the Project, a mixture of onshore and offshore experience across the sectors identified is essential

Scope of Responsibilities:

Project Engineering

  • Coordinate multi-discipline engineering activities for concurrent oil and gas projects from ODE’s Great Yarmouth office. Projects will primarily be brownfield modifications for onshore and offshore facilities in the UK
  • Responsible for ensuring engineering designs are developed in accordance with ODE, Client, and International Standards.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline project teams to develop and implement fit-for-purpose scopes which are delivered safely in accordance with the project schedule, agreed budgets, and completion dates.
  • Represent the company and act as the focal point with clients for all project activities including providing project progress updates
  • Manage scope, cost & schedule changes for each project
  • Conduct offshore / site surveys as required
  • Manage project risks and coordinate all mitigation activities to address the risks
  • Consolidate and agree scopes of work with clients and support the preparation of proposals, detailed cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Deputise for the Project Manager or Engineering Manager as required

Engineering Support

  • Develop and/or review the basis of design for engineering scopes. Liaise with ODE engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose.
  • Perform/check the design of minor scopes, e.g. pipe support designs

Business Development

  • Responsible for developing sales opportunities for the Great Yarmouth engineering operation in the disciplines of consultancy, studies, FEEDs, detailed engineering, decommissioning, and specialist capabilities
  • Generate BD meetings with the complete range of potential customers including Super Majors, Independents, Investment Houses, Equity Partners, and Engineering contractors and subcontractors

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience working in an EPC/Consultancy
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Engineering
  • Recent experience of brownfield construction projects
  • Has sufficient experience in Project Engineering
  • Systems Knowledge in MS Office, MS Project and SharePoint
