Accounts Receivable Officer

St Kilda | $85,000 + super | Full-time, onsite (some flexibility in school holidays)

About the Company

This well-established school in St Kilda is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join its supportive finance team. Working within the school community, you will be the main point of contact for families regarding school fees, payment arrangements and account enquiries.

This is a relationship-focused position suited to someone who combines strong accounts receivable experience with empathy, confidence and outstanding communication skills.

Responsibilities Include

• Managing the day-to-day administration and collection of school fees
• Communicating with parents both over the phone and face to face
• Following up outstanding accounts in a professional and empathetic manner
• Establishing and maintaining payment plans with families
• Administering scholarships and related account adjustments
• Preparing monthly accounts receivable reports
• Responding to fee enquiries and resolving account discrepancies
• Assisting the Accountant with general finance duties, approximately 20% of the role
• Working closely with the Finance Manager, Accountant and Accounts Payable Officer

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in an accounts receivable or school-fees position
• Confidence managing sensitive financial conversations and overdue accounts
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A professional, empathetic and approachable manner
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Experience with Synergetic or Alii would be advantageous but is not essential
• A reliable and resilient approach, with the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team
