Accounts Manager (AP/AR & Transformation)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a well-established organisation undergoing a period of transformation and growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing Accounts Payable and Receivable operations, while also playing a key role in driving process and system improvements across the function.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead a small team and take ownership of the AP/AR function in a high-volume environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end Accounts Payable and Receivable operations (AP-heavy role)
- Leading, mentoring and supporting a team of 2–3 staff
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations
- Managing workflows, allocating tasks, and monitoring team performance against KPIs
- Driving process improvements and system enhancements across the function
- Supporting the implementation and transition of a new purchase-to-pay (P2P) system
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve queries and improve processes
- Supporting the Financial Controller with reporting, compliance, and ad hoc tasks
This role operates in a high-volume environment (approx. 3,000 invoices per month), requiring strong organisation and leadership capability.
About You
You will be a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key requirements:
- Proven experience managing an AP/AR or transactional finance team
- Strong background in Accounts Payable within high-volume environments
- Experience driving process improvements or system implementations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to balance hands-on operational work with team leadership
Systems Experience
- Experience with SAP Concur (highly regarded)
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. Dynamics GP or similar)
- Experience working across integrated procurement / finance systems
