Bookkeeper – Hospitality Industry
Salary: $80k + super (with potential to grow to $110k+ after 12 months)
Hours: Full-time, permanent – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Location: Hastings (On-site role)

We’re partnering with an exciting business in the hospitality industry, based in the heart of Hastings, known for its strong community presence and exceptional service. As the business continues to expand, they are looking for a committed and experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of the role and grow with the business.


ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a varied position that goes beyond standard bookkeeping. While your core focus will be on financial tasks, you'll also play a key role in staff onboarding and administrative support. The position offers a clear path for progression, with the opportunity to develop the role into a senior finance/operations position over time.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General bookkeeping duties including:

    • Accounts payable and receivable

    • Bank and account reconciliations

    • Processing payroll

    • BAS preparation and lodgment

    • Managing petty cash and company credit cards

  • Onboarding new staff members and collecting required documentation

  • Sending out employment contracts and maintaining employee records

  • General reception and office duties, including phone and email communication

  • Liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal teams

  • Supporting management with ad hoc admin and finance tasks as needed

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in a bookkeeping role (hospitality industry experience is a bonus)

  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar)

  • Confidence in handling end-to-end bookkeeping processes

  • Comfortable with onboarding staff and managing employment documentation

  • Friendly, approachable, and organised

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
