We’re partnering with a large, well-established organisation based in Port Melbourne to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role offering the opportunity to lead a strong team and drive process improvements within a dynamic finance function.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the AP Manager, you’ll lead a team of 8 and take ownership of the invoice processing function—particularly managing exceptions and invoices that fall outside of automation workflows. You’ll work closely alongside another AP Team Leader who oversees payments, ensuring seamless end-to-end AP operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8 AP professionals
  • Oversee high-volume invoice processing within a large ERP system
  • Manage and resolve invoice exceptions (invoices stuck in the system or not captured by automation)
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across AP processes
  • Collaborate closely with the Payments Team Leader to maintain operational efficiency

About You

  • Proven experience managing or leading an Accounts Payable team
  • Strong background in high-volume invoice processing environments
  • Hands-on experience with large ERP systems such as NetSuite, D365, SAP, or similar
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving system/process issues relating to invoice automation
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
