Junior Accountant – Public Practice
Salary: $70k–$80k + super
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Location: Melbourne CBD

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Junior Accountant, you will work closely with a team of experienced professionals across a diverse client base. This role is ideal for someone with 6 months to 2 years’ experience in public practice who is either currently studying or planning to commence their CA or CPA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Bookkeeping and preparation of accounts

• Preparation and lodgment of BAS/IAS statements

• Preparation of individual income tax returns

• Exposure to and assistance with capital gains tax calculations

• Assist with preparation of financial statements and reports

• Liaise with clients to collect necessary documentation and provide updates

• Work collaboratively with senior accountants and managers on client engagements

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 6 months to 2 years’ experience in a public practice accounting firm

• Degree in accounting

• Currently studying or planning to commence CA or CPA

• Solid understanding of bookkeeping, BAS, and individual tax returns

• Exposure to capital gains tax is highly regarded

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Eager to learn, proactive, and enjoys working in a team
