We seek a full-time, customer-focused and enthusiastic Kaitakawaenga Māori/Māori Liaison Officer with a strong connection to Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington, Māori communities and/or Wellington City to join our team. Please note this role could be based in Wellington or Auckland. The team manages domestic student recruitment and provides quality course information, admission and programme advice to future students, both undergraduate and postgraduate.

This is a permanent role, where you will demonstrate a strong commitment to the development and delivery of targeted recruitment programmes aimed at increasing the participation, enrolment and smooth transition of Māori students to Victoria University of Wellington. You will either have, or be able to develop, experience working across secondary schools, iwi or hapū, community and other Māori groups and organisations, and have excellent relationship building skills.  Competency in te reo Māori and tikanga Māori is highly desirable.

Experience of working in the NZ university, tertiary and/or secondary sector is essential as well as a degree and a full driver’s licence. The successful candidate needs to be available for travel and for working evenings and weekends.
