 About the role

  • Develop teaching materials on health and safety topics for postgraduate programmes
  • Coordinate courses on workplace health and safety
  • Supervise students undertaking research in your areas of expertise and interest
  • Be part of a vibrant team committed to improving health and wellbeing outcomes in Aotearoa NZ
  • Undertake innovative and valuable workplace health and safety research
  • Engage with key stakeholders including governmental departments and organisations

Skills and experience

  • PhD desirable
  • Research experience essential
  • Active researcher and enthusiastic teacher
  • Knowledge of how the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi can be effectively upheld in academic and health settings
  • Knowledge, experience and expertise in at least two of the following areas:
    • Occupational health and hygiene
    • Assessment and management of hazards and risks
    • Human factors, biological factors, ergonomics
    • Health and safety systems and organisational culture
    • Health and safety management and leadership
    • Corporate governance, social responsibility and ethical frameworks in a health and safety setting
