SNI Technology’s top client is actively seeking to hire a talented AVP Business Applications for an exciting, full-time permanent position located in Broomfield, CO.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Business Applications is responsible for leading several key teams and their respective programs for the Credit Union. Each function is critical in fulfilling the business application, application programming, business process insight, data analytics and business intelligence needs of the organization. This role provides the primary leadership responsibilities in supporting the SVP Information Technology in collaborating with the lines of business to develop the overall strategy for the Credit Union’s application portfolio, cloud deployment approach, and business intelligence solutions to meet the overall goals and strategic objectives of the company. This role drives collaboration across the enterprise to identify business needs and identify, maintain, and develop scalable solutions. In meeting these duties and responsibilities, the AVP of Business Applications leads and manages the Business Applications Analysts Manager and the Business Applications Administrators Manager.

The Business Applications Administrator team provides the primary application support and maintenance of the business applications including projects related to development, enhancements, integration, automation, and defect remediation. The team also ensures availability of each application and manages upgrades and patches for these systems.

The Business Systems Application team works with the lines of business and other groups in determining strategic direction, business requirements, and the functional requirements to provide guidance and recommendations on different technologies.

The Business Intelligence team provides data analytics and business analysis reporting and insights to the lines of business. The team offers guidance and builds reports for business users using different Business Intelligence tools to provide insight into business operations and to help the organization make better decisions based on the vast data available from key systems in the organization’s overall application portfolio. The team ensures the overall processes and support are in place for the organization’s data warehousing efforts and data governance needs.

The AVP Business Applications works closely with the SVP Information Technology and the IT Operations group to implement changes into the production and test application environment.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the primary point person in collaborating with the lines of business and other stakeholders to lead discussions and efforts around application strategy, priorities, and direction.
  • Provide coaching and counseling to direct management team and staff.
  • Manage and measure the work of the business applications and business intelligence teams, ensuring resources are effectively utilized.
  • Oversee the Data Steering Committee
  • Provide guidance and direction for business intelligence, reporting and data governance.
  • Manage the company’s applications environment to ensure we are meeting established expectations and sharing best practices across the function.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, vendors, and other opportunities to improve business operations.
  • Lead the overall effort to ensure application currency and minimize the technology debt risk to the organization.
  • Oversee multiple, enterprise projects to successful completion.
  • Manage vendor relationships to support the application environment.
  • Manage internal customer satisfaction metrics and benchmarks for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in developing the IT expense budget and capital plan for all applications.
  • Development and maintenance of Business Process Management (BPM) methodology.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with management and peers.
  • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards.
  • Provide hands-on support when needed.

Qualifications
Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management or an additional 4 years of related experience

Knowledge Required

  • Strong understanding of Credit Union business functions and associated application landscape
  • Familiarity with Jack Henry products and services
  • Experience managing enterprise applications.
  • Experience managing data governance and business intelligence.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of experience managing IT applications with proven experience and ability in leading a successful team.
  • 4+ years’ experience leading and providing business intelligence and data analytics solutions to clients.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong customer-service orientation at all times
  • Working knowledge and understanding of credit union operations, including deposit operations, loan operations, online banking, mobile banking, and data processing systems considered a plus.
  • Ability to effectively direct a technical team with diverse skills in a variety of technologies.
  • Capable of managing vendors to ensure they are meeting established expectations.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally engage in communication with executive management.
  • Background in any of the following areas will be considered a plus - IBM/AIX, Citrix, Share Point, Windows Licensing Management; Jack Henry applications, SQL Server, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, multiple areas of expertise preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position is in the range of $130K to $152K annually + bonus + full benefits. Please note your actual pay rate will be determined based upon your skills, knowledge and abilities including work experience - talk with your recruiter to learn more.
