Rotating shift – Earlier (05:45 – 14:15 & Lates 13:45 – 22:15)

 

Role Overview

Due to continued growth and expansion, our prestigious client now has a rare opportunity for a Plant Operative to join their growing team on a permanent basis. This is a fanatic opportunity for someone to join a growing business within the local area, working as part of a team to ensure the smooth day to day operation onsite.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary application is for Compactor operators with the possibly of progression to gantry crane and mobile plant (telehandler) followed by future development to  Loading Shovel, Container Handling Unit & 360 material handler)
  • To ensure the safe and efficient operation of fixed machinery, such as compactors.
  • To sustain the completion of preoperational safety and operator checks.
  • Completing daily checks and maintenance of mobile plant, Fixed Plant and equipment used at the facility.
  • Ensuring that all deliveries of waste are following the site licence, and any associated paperwork is completed.
  • Carry out inspections on incoming product(s) in line with the site Waste Acceptance Criteria and report any non-compliant loads.
  • To direct customer’s vehicles to the various disposal areas and assist them with off-loading as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with all material export requirements such as photo’s, paperwork and container seals.
  • Assisting Sampling Operatives with collection of output samples.
  • To comply fully with all company and local procedures.
  • To ensure the site is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • To assist Production staff with their duties during end of shift clean-ups and plant downtime.
  • Contributing to lean and 5’s activities across the site in order to maintain a clean, organised and efficient workplace.
  • To work as part of a team to maintain an efficient and cost-effective operation.
  • Ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with company and H&S policy.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job role.

 

Requirements

  • FULL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED
  • Manual handling tasks will be involved
  • Somone who can work as part of a team as well as individually.
  • Previous experience within the Waste Industry or within a high volume production process is desirable.
