Food Service Assistant - London

Location: London
Pay Rate: Up to £14.24p/h in. hol pay
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm and 8:00am till 4:00pm
Contract: Temp-to-Perm. After successful probation period

The Role

PPM Recruitment is currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Food Service Assistant to join a catering team within a healthcare environment.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and customer service.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day catering operation, helping to ensure food and refreshments are prepared and served to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.

• Support the day-to-day running of the catering service.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout kitchen and food service areas.

• Wash dishes, utensils and catering equipment as required.

• Ensure food is handled, stored and served in accordance with food safety procedures.

• Replenish food service areas and catering supplies.

• Follow health and safety procedures and site-specific guidelines.

• Provide a friendly and professional service to patients, staff and visitors.

• Work effectively as part of a catering team.

Requirements

• Previous catering or food service experience is desirable.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• A reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Good understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards.

• Willingness to complete site induction and mandatory training.

• Ability to meet the required vetting and compliance checks, including a Standard DBS.
