About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Automation Test Lead to drive the end-to-end testing lifecycle for a major system implementation. You’ll ensure solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, and support successful project delivery. This role suits a strong leader with hands-on automation expertise who can collaborate across teams and uplift testing capability.
Key Responsibilities

Define and deliver a comprehensive test strategy, including automation frameworks, schedules, and resources.

Manage all phases of testing: functional, system, performance, and UAT.

Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to align on testing requirements.

Lead the design of automated test cases, scenarios, and scripts to ensure full requirements coverage.

Oversee test execution, track results, and manage defects through to resolution.

Drive governance of defect management processes and timelines.

Ensure test data preparation and validation for accuracy and integrity.

Provide regular reports on progress, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.

Manage UAT activities and coordinate with business users to resolve issues before deployment.

Identify and implement improvements in testing tools, processes, and practices.

Leverage Java, Selenium, and Python frameworks to build and maintain automation suites.

Apply AI-enabled testing tools and GitHub Copilot to accelerate test creation, integration, and coverage.

Work within DevOps and Microsoft-based environments to embed testing seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines.

Contribute to the definition of the overall automation architecture and frameworks to ensure scalability and maintainability.
About you

Proven experience as an Automation Test Lead or Test Manager on complex system implementation projects.

Deep knowledge of automation testing methodologies across the full lifecycle.

Strong hands-on experience with Java, Selenium, Python and related automation frameworks.

Exposure to AI-assisted testing, GitHub, and Copilot in test design and execution.

Background in DevOps/Microsoft environments and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Skilled in testing governance, quality assurance, and reporting.

Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Confident communicator able to influence and collaborate across business and technical teams.
