Business Analyst – Adelaide – Operational Technology

Location: Adelaide
Contract length: 12 months (definite extensions)
Daily rate: $750-900 per day including super

Role Overview

An opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to join a high-performing Enterprise Delivery team, supporting critical technology projects that underpin operational systems in a complex, infrastructure-led environment.

You’ll be working across initiatives that support core operational platforms, including upgrades to advanced management systems used to control and optimise large-scale networks. This role offers exposure to technically complex, business-critical projects with a strong focus on operational outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders to gather, define and document business and functional requirements
  • Conduct data analysis (primarily using Excel) to support decision-making and solution design
  • Capture current state (“as is”) processes and design future state (“to be”) processes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement using lean principles
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language
  • Support project lifecycle activities including problem definition, business case development, and benefits realisation
  • Contribute to project delivery in agile or hybrid environments
  • Support operational handover, including documentation and transition activities
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and challenge scope where required to ensure alignment to value and outcomes

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within complex IT or operational environments
  • Strong core BA skillset including requirements gathering, process mapping, workshop facilitation, and documentation
  • Experience working in environments involving multiple systems and stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience across full project lifecycle activities
  • Background in utilities, mining, or similarly complex/asset-intensive industries
  • Experience working on safety-critical or engineering-led projects
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge stakeholders and manage scope in line with business value
