About

We're partnering with an organisation undergoing significant technology transformation to find an experienced Technical Business Analyst / Solution Architect for an initial 3-month contract.

This is a hands-on role focused on bringing clarity to a complex application and integration landscape. You'll work across existing systems, integrations and business processes to consolidate information, identify gaps and develop clear, practical architecture documentation.

The organisation is preparing for a major HR, payroll and workforce transformation, and needs someone who can bridge the gap between technical business analysis and solution architecture.

This isn't a traditional BA role or a pure architecture position. We're looking for someone technically strong who can take complex information and turn it into clear, visual documentation that supports future technology decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and document the current application and integration landscape, including system dependencies, interfaces and data flows.
  • Consolidate existing technical information and work with SMEs to address gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Develop comprehensive integration registers detailing source and target systems, data exchanges, integration methods, ownership and dependencies.
  • Produce current-state architecture diagrams and process maps using tools such as Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Create layered architecture views suitable for executive, operational and technical audiences.
  • Identify integration risks, technical debt, process inefficiencies and potential impacts on future transformation activities.
  • Support future-state architecture planning by documenting solution options, dependencies and technical considerations.
  • Work collaboratively with internal architecture, ICT and business stakeholders to validate documentation and recommendations.
  • Establish practical, reusable documentation and templates that can be maintained by internal teams.

Required Experience

  • Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Solution Architect or a hybrid of both.
  • Proven ability to analyse and document complex application landscapes and system-to-system integrations.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, interfaces, databases, file transfers, middleware and integration platforms.
  • Experience producing current-state architecture diagrams, integration maps and technical documentation.
  • Excellent process mapping, data flow analysis and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, visual information for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with legacy systems and identifying integration risks and dependencies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive relationships and influence collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working with incomplete information and within environments where architecture and documentation practices are still developing.
  • Practical experience using Microsoft Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.

Highly desirable:

  • Experience with HR, payroll, workforce management or enterprise ERP platforms.
  • Exposure to integration middleware such as Boomi.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workday or Oracle.
  • Experience supporting enterprise technology transformation programmes.

Why Apply

  • Fully remote opportunity – Work from anywhere in Australia.
  • Immediate impact – Play a key role in establishing visibility across a complex technology landscape.
  • Major transformation – Contribute to the foundations of a significant HR, payroll and workforce technology programme.
  • Autonomy and ownership – Take responsibility for meaningful deliverables and work directly with senior stakeholders.
  • Potential extension – Initial 3-month engagement with opportunities for additional work depending on project requirements.

If your experience applies to the above, please apply or email Karim.Romdhane@precisionsourcing.com.au with your updated CV and we will be in touch only if the experience is relevant to the requirements of the role.
