This is an opportunity to sit at the commercial heart of the energy transition and play a direct role in bringing large-scale renewable energy projects to market. You will be responsible for creating and executing revenue strategies that underpin major renewable generation and storage investments, working across some of the most sophisticated energy buyers, traders and market participants across ANZ.
The role offers significant influence across both project development and investment decisions, with exposure to senior stakeholders internally and externally. You will have the opportunity to shape commercial strategy, negotiate complex transactions and build a strong profile within one of the fastest-growing sectors of the energy market.
About the role
Vinova are partnering with a major renewable energy developer and investor to appoint a Senior Originator based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
Working closely with senior leadership, development, finance and legal teams, you will lead the commercialisation of a growing portfolio of renewable generation and energy storage projects.
The position will focus on securing long-term revenue agreements, developing market strategies and identifying innovative pathways to market. You will play a key role in managing market exposure, evaluating new commercial opportunities and supporting the successful deliver of projects from development through to operation.
This role will suit a commercially astute energy markets professional who combines strong market knowledge with exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Duties
- Develop and execute revenue and market strategies across renewable energy and storage assets
- Lead negotiations for power purchase agreements, hedging arrangements and other energy market contracts
- Identify new routes to market and emerging commercial opportunities
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments and customer requirements to inform strategic decision-making
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate energy buyers, retailers, traders and wholesale market participants
- Partner with development, finance and legal teams to maximise project value and investment outcomes
- Support portfolio optimisation activities across generation, storage and environmental products
Skill/experience
- Strong understanding of the Australian National Electricity Market and its commercial drivers
- Demonstrated experience originating, structuring or negotiating complex energy market transactions
- Background within renewable energy, energy markets, utilities, trading or infrastructure sectors
- Experience with PPAs, energy storage agreements, financial hedging or revenue contracting structures
- Strong commercial and analytical capability with the ability to assess risk and opportunity
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with customers, counterparties and key industry stakeholders
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant qualifications in business, finance, engineering, economics, law or a related discipline
