We are partnering with a major infrastructure business to appoint an Energy Analyst into its growing energy function.
This is a broad analytical role focused on understanding energy consumption across large-scale assets, improving forecasting and reporting, and providing the data and insights needed to support future energy requirements.
About the role:
Sitting within the Energy team, you’ll become the central point for understanding electricity consumption, cost and future demand across the Australian portfolio.
You’ll manage existing electricity retail arrangements, metering and reconciliations, but this isn’t simply a billing or settlements position. A major part of the role is using historic consumption and expected load growth to forecast future electricity demand, analyse forecast versus actual performance and provide meaningful insights to the wider business.
You’ll work closely with Energy, Operations and Finance, alongside electricity retailers, Metering Service Providers and DNSPs.
Duties
- Build electricity demand forecasts using historic consumption, expected load growth and operational inputs
- Analyse forecast versus actual consumption, energy costs and key variances
- Manage electricity invoices, reconciliations, metering data and existing retail agreements
- Develop Power BI dashboards and reporting to support procurement, budgeting and sustainability requirements
Skills & experience
- Strong electricity forecasting, analytics and energy consumption analysis capability
- Good understanding of electricity billing, metering, tariffs and retail electricity arrangements
- Experience with electricity retailers or DNSPs
- Strong Excel and Power BI capability with the ability to turn energy data into useful forecasts and reporting
- Background across large energy users, utilities, energy retail, energy management or a similar environment
