Technical Assistant Flowers (GMTAF) Dublin North, Republic of Ireland
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain trust, confidence and effective working relationship with all supplier contacts
- Maintain good working relationship with other departments e.g. Commercial, Operations and Planning, working with them for best solutions.
- Working alongside Quality Control operators and covering tasks when required.
- Internal audit of systems and procedures against company and customer standards. Document and ensure close out of internal audit and GMP audits.
- Respond to enquiries and requests for technical information, support and improvement plans.
- To ensure customer product specifications are compiled and maintained and to manage customer specifications.
- Liaising with sales, commercial and production teams. Compliance with customer NPD, ETI and environmental requirements.
- Development, review and implementation of Health & Safety initiatives within a specified time frame.
- Management of QMS.
Main Duties:
Technical and duties and responsibilities for flowers division including, but not limited to:
- Compliance to BOPP and customer standards. Ensuring standards are consistently implemented and site is audit ready at all times. Support the technical manager in site audits conducted – Both internally and externally.
- Support in the evolution of audit findings and implementation appropriate corrective actions.
- Supplier Due Diligence to meet customer / BOPP requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date RM and FP specs.
- Ensure compliance with sourcing doc.
- Working with other team members to prepare for customer and 3rd party visits and audits.
- Ensure accurate notification of defects on arrival, good working relationships and communication with suppliers.
- Develop and review SOP’s, QA procedures and product knowledge training as per requirements.
- Investigate internal NC’s and resolve any issues.
- Review shelf life integrity and NC resolution.
- Monitor and control stock rotation (FIFO) and Waste RM.
- Quality control, quality assurance and implementation of quality, legality and safety related systems and procedures.
- Support persons involved in tenders / new business e.g. provision of up-to-date specifications, benchmarking, complaints, QSL.
- To investigate, analyse and respond to customer complaints as and when they arise.
- Production support and supervision of production staff.
- Carrying out regular Health & Safety inspections, reporting defects and action a solution within a specified time frame.
- Production of regular and ad hoc reports with regard to Health & Safety.
- Production of Health & Safety SOP’s in conjunction with Group Health & Safety Manager and carrying out training.
- Ensuring that all process staff and aware of individual product quality standards.
- To contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Liaise with the department of agriculture staff, complete reviews and audits.
- Event Management.

Person Specification / Core Competencies:
- 2/ 3 years experience as QA / Technical on Food / Fresh Produce or FMCG Industry
- Ability to work in a busy environment meeting time / budget deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have excellent Leadership and Management skills
- High attention to detail
- Problems solving and continuous improvement.
- Degree in Food Science or equivalent
- Flexibility for occasional weekend work and ‘on call’ roster
