Salary: GBP0 - GBP16085 per annum + bonus, pension, employee discounts

Modern Apprenticeship

12 month Fixed Term Contract – start date 22nd August 2022

This role offers a salary of £16,085 and rewards package including up to 20% annual bonus, pension plan, employee discounts and flexible benefits; plus 31 days annual leave and 6 bank holidays.

Hours – 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. (Full time)

Each year, we recruit new Modern Apprentices to work with us, learn new skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification. We’ve had huge success with the programme in previous years with recruits moving into full time positions across the business.

About the role

The programme will involve work-based learning, where the training is directly linked to your role. You’ll be supported by our experienced professionals in all aspects of customer service and get hands-on experience dealing directly with our customers.

You’ll gain a range of new skills including communication, problem solving and team working, which are all transferable in any future roles.

A real alternative to full-time college or university, by learning on the job, you get to put your skills to the test immediately and with Modern Apprenticeships being designed with employers and industries in mind, this ensures the best possible training while earning a full-time salary.

What might a day in this job look like? 

You’ll be responsible for providing great customer service! When a customer calls with an enquiry you will take time to understand their needs and then deliver the resolution in an accurate and consistent manner. You’ll be responsible for setting the customer’s expectation regarding the resolution and accurately logging the details on the system to ensure the correct next steps are taken

We will give you the support and learning you need to navigate our systems and policies to fully understand our business so you feel confident in providing this great customer service. We’ll help you understand where you can offer our customers savings on the bill and the best way to save water!

It’s a busy role but we have support on hand and offer lots of ways in which you can develop your learning and understanding of the water industry.

What will I Learn?

As well as an understanding of the business water industry, you will also learn about the other areas in our business and how we all work together to ensure the business goals are met.

You’ll be confident in delivering an excellent service for our customers and know the important steps you need to follow to do this.

You’ll also develop important interpersonal skills such as communication, problem solving and team working, which are all transferable in any future roles.

On completion of the programme, you’ll gain an SVQ Level 3 in Customer Service.

What Qualifications / Qualities are required?

National 5 in English & Maths

Work Environment:

You’ll be based in our office on Lochside View, Edinburgh working in a small team. Please be assured we have strict health and safety guidelines in place to ensure all of our colleagues are kept safe and well.
