Payroll and Billings Officer (o2UVbbbXVZ) Newport, Melbourne, Australia

Salary: AUD33 - AUD34 per hour

Our client based in Newport, has been around for over 20 years, and is a National leader in their Australiawide transport services to rural and metro locations.

Employing a large fleet of trucks on a daily run schedule, they are looking for an experienced payroll and billings champion to support their operations team.

Working in a Monday – Friday, 38hour week capacity, the successful applicant will have an opportunity to manage their areas of expertise, and become a valuable, long term member of the team.

The role:

  • 5 days/wk (flexible start time from 7-8.30am)
  • 38 hour week
  • Pay rate $33.70/hr
  • Newport location
  • ASAP start

Role responsibilities:

  • Taking on the weekly payroll cycle of all company employees, some automated and some manual processing required.
  • Learning the weekly cycle of billing and working within the timeframes to have the process completed every week
  • Some Accounts Receivable activities (no accounts payable required)
  • Generating and presenting reports
  • Creating presentations for team members when required
  • Using the inhouse accounting software and learning all the customised applications used to track the activity of the busy operations
  • Other ad hoc administration activities as required

 

About you:

  • Proven experience in a payroll position with a strong understanding of all elements of a successful pay run
  • Billing experience and ability to manage a process with a mix of automation and manual elements
  • Proficiency using inhouse software systems and confidence in learning new technologies and processes
  • Self-motivated and able to understand multiple priorities and manage them accordingly without the need for constant supervision
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take accountability for particular tasks
  • License and reliable form of transport
